Mette Skov Maersk galleri sam 1

Mette Skov Mærsk (b. 1979) is a trained forest and landscape engineer at the University of Copenhagen.

The Nordic nature, flora, birds and insects are Mette's artistic starting point. The wild life, the quiet life. Fleeting and unifying, like the watercolor she works with. The watercolor requires presence and immersion, and Mette creates new life on the paper where pigment, lines and water come together.

As a trained forest and landscape engineer, professionalism and knowledge of nature are a large part of Mette's artistic work. The knowledge of a single growth is important to her. I regard it not just as a motif, but as a life of its own – of which I am a part!

Nature is Mette's story about inner and outer landscapes, the cycle of life, light and darkness and the big in the small. About connectedness and relationship between all living things.

Mette has participated in several censored exhibitions in Denmark.
