Amariel Norðoy (b. 1945) was educated a visual artist at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, where he studied with professors Robert Jacobsen, Sven Dalsgaard and Dan Sterup-Hansen.
Amariel intensely cultivates a fixed theme - he finds the motifs around the harbor, where the dark masses of the ships and the wavy lines of the floating mirror images create a temperamental, color-saturated whole in ultramarine blue and permanent green. His nature images are coloristic, and the play of colors is used abstractly and sometimes decoratively.
Amariel has exhibited and is represented at art museums and in private collections in the Faroe Islands, in Denmark and abroad.
